Definition

Dar Al-Hijrah Al-Oula Foundation for Development is an entity whose main purpose is to work in the fields of charitable development activities as a non-profit civil society organization, to currently practice its work in a specific geographical area of the world, namely the Horn of Africa region in particular, and its charitable activity may extend in the future, God willing, to other regions of the world in a broader sense.

Reason for Naming

The name of the foundation came in honor of the event of the first migration of the companions of the Messenger of God, our master Muhammad, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, to Abyssinia (specifically to the coast of the state of Eritrea), and thus that part of the world was the home to which the companions, may God be pleased with them, fled with their religion to it, and that country was the first drops of rain of victory and empowerment for Muslims.

Establishment

As an extension of the efforts of activists in charitable work residing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the idea of establishing the First Dar Al-Hijrah Foundation for Development arose to continue, expand and institutionalize the scope and fields of charitable work, as well as organize and intensify its activities carried out by these activists and include the efforts of their brothers residing in the Gulf States, the European Union countries, the United States of America, Canada and Australia.

The Foundation has been registered in Britain as the country of the Foundation's headquarters, and in the future, work will be done to open branches for it, whenever possible, in the countries where these activists reside, with the current focus on the virtual world for the Foundation's activities.

Noting that the foundation's main work pillar will be guided by the good news that Sheikh Jaafar Saeed Anati, may God have mercy on him, the founder and Sheikh of the Ahmadiyya Idrisiyya Order in Eritrea, used to preach to his students, loved ones, followers and others more than a hundred years ago, transforming the simple mosque that he established and founded in the suburb of Amatri near Massawa in Eritrea into a major scientific beacon in the country, which is visited by students of knowledge from all parts of the beloved Eritrean homeland and others from different countries, God willing.
